Hardware Requirements

Hardware minimum requirements are driven by software minimum requirements, and as such they change at a very fast pace.  Listed below is an example of an absolute minimum system (as of this writting):

  • Pentium 500 or faster
  • Windows 2000/XP Professional
  • 128 MB Memory or more (256 MB recommended)
  • Fast CD with full multi-media capabilities

What happens if I have a system problem that prevents me from doing my assigned work at home?

We regret that neither CSU nor your instructor is in a position to help you on system problems. One of the specific requirements for participation in on-line courses is an ability to handle such problems yourself or get assistance from other sources.

Software Requirements

Students are responsible for purchasing and installing all required course software. Most software is available at academic pricing from most major software retailers. No support is available from your instructor.

  • Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5+ (full install recommended)
  • Operating System: Windows 2000/XP Professional
  • Other Software: See your course syllabus for specific software requirements.

What if I need help administering my system?

You must be able to administer the system, install and configure your own software. There is no personal technical support available from the instructor or the university for personal computer systems or any required course software. This is totally and completely the student's responsibility.
